SRX personnel attended a formal dinner this week at Jesmond Dene House, where we were presented with a Silver Award in recognition of our ongoing contribution to the Armed Forces Community. The award was part of the Ministry of Defence's National Employer Recognition Scheme, which was launched in 2014 by the Prime Minister to recognise employer support for the wider principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employers that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces community. This includes the Reserves, Service leavers, Armed Forces veterans, the wounded, injured and sick, Cadets, military spouses or partners and their families.
A fantastic night, organised with military precision and with excellent speakers, it was humbling to see first hand the high level of support for the military community by a range of different industries and companies.
SRX will now begin the in-depth and challenging process to attaining a Gold Award in the forthcoming years.
